Break up - A learning experience in life

Life is full of surprises and you learn new stuff at every level…. Sometimes you have to learn it the hard way, i.e. shedding tears and showing emotions along the way…. Let’s take the basic concept of breakups and analyze how much opportunity is there for anyone to learn and feel in life….This is my way of looking at things… atleast at the end of it… you wud have gained some knowledge, if nothing else…..

Breakups does happen between couples…. I have personally seen more breakups rather than successes in love. Why does this happen…… When does a relationship actually termed as broken .. its when one partner is willing to continue the relationship while the other partner doesn’t want to continue…… when both accept to depart, its not a break up….its more of a MOU (Memorandum of understanding) between the two….. So what happens to the person who wants to continue the relationship after the break up… should he/she be sad…. Well they are entitled to… unless you are in there position you wont know it….right….

First few months - The person who is not willing to accept the break up will always thrive for love and affection and try to live in past memories, thinking about the sweet moments they had when they were partners and just refuse to give the thought of existence of breakup. It will be very hard for you to believe what just happened. You will constantly look for a call or mail from your partner…But there wont be any…. When you try to call, ur partner wont pick up… this will get you even most frustrated and will make you strive for more affection.

This is the stage where one feels the guiltiness….. you will feel…. All the If’s and But’s in life and this thought will start hovering around ur mind…. Avoid being alone during this period….the mental stress and pain in this period will be more and thought of life sucks, well everything sucks and why life… will come to ur mind… Don’t worry you will pass through this….

Level two is the most difficult period of break ups…. Believe me you will do stupid things of which when you think about it latter. You will definitely have a laugh…. Desperate tactics will be adopted by you to try and win back their love and affection…. You will show anger over your friends and except them not to react to it… (Wat will the poor people do….) The fear inside you will come out and make you do crazy things for which you will get nice scolding’s from your partner… You will feel like doing certain things for him/her on special occasions , but anything you do for them at this point will only trigger their frustration on you , this is the most difficult part , a friend will have more right on your partner than you and you are not allowed to express wat you feel , a volcano is built inside your heart waiting to explode …. This will increase your BP and you will have sleepless nights…looking at the roof…. Thinking wat have you done… wasted so much time on some one who doesn’t even give respect to your feeling….. You will pass through this too… but with some amount of time consumed….

Level three is the stage when you start thinking.. Is the relationship really over?…..for some time you wudn’t have spoken to ur partner and would not have realized it too…. You will laugh more… you will be with your friends more and start enjoying, even if the enjoyment lasts for only a while…. Your first enjoyment after the break up occurs here…. You would have thought abt the relationship over and over again… its ups and downs… and by now… you wud have realized where are you and wats the best thing to be done right now… Prioritize your life goal and ambitions and start working towards it….. being sad and thinking about the past is not going to get us anywhere (pls note that I am including myself here) ….. when your mind thinks abt your partner.. just concentrate on other things…. Your friends have to play a big part here understanding your situation…. And I am sure any true friend will help you out.…..

If after all the above three stages are thru and still your mind doesn’t leave thought of your partner… Hats off dude/girl…. You are madly in love with him/her and continue to do so for the rest of your life…. … but your partner is not quite blessed to be with you…… to live a wonderful life with you….. to experience what is to be like to be the most loved person in the whole world….. to laugh all the time with you…. To enjoy life with you…..

Ok, enough of looking at from the angle of person who got “ditched” ( I shud not have used this word…) … lets analyze wats in the mind of the person who actually said that lets end the relationship… there cud be reasons for break ups…. Reasons as silly as you are not smart/cute anymore or as dramatic as my family won’t accept us…. The reasons might be valid or not Valid… but the important thing is that the thought has come to their mind that this is not going to work out….. Sometimes there won’t be any reason or fights also….but just the circumstances are held up in such a way that it’s best to depart……

Love is a Commitment, its not an entertainment; so be true to your love… Don’t lose your love for other commitments…..Please try and keep the relationship alive if you don’t have any difference of opinion with your partner and want to spend the rest of your life with your partner…. be true to urself and do what is best for both, don’t hurt each other in the process…. Its so easy to say I don’t have any feelings for you anymore…..but latter in your life when you are in need of love…. All the wonderful moments you had in the relationship will be doing circles over your head .. and this shud not make you regret the decision you have taken to dissolve the relationship.

Investment in Stock market – in Layman’s Language

Seeing the number of comments I have received for my Earlier two blogs, I have become quite sure that no one is going to visit my blog and this has encouraged me to discuss about a topic I am not quite familiar with … Investment in Stock market…….so here goes… My attempt of explaining something which is beyond my Imagination and reach.

If you have 5000 bucks, what do you do.. Will you invest it in bank deposit..... I would say that’s the safest thing to do provided that you are investing in a govt bank… The next best thing would be Postal savings account, NSC and Mutual Funds…… if you are a little greedy and have a flare for finance in your mind and of course the time to research and do analysis then you should go for share market……

So what is Share Market…It’s an Exchange board where the shares of various companies are bought and sold…. Its looks pretty simple na… now the question is how should one buy and sell shares, from whom, what companies should we invest….. Of these three questions, third one is the most difficult to handle, we will try to maximize the possibilities of finding a solution to that question at the end of this discussion.

To trade in stock market one should have a DP account and a Trading account, A DP account is nothing but savings account that you maintain in your banks, the only difference is instead of money to your credit, there will be shares to your credit in DP account. Trading account is Mandatory to be in stock market….The money you give/receive by way of buying/selling of shares must be maintained in the trading account…. Nowadays people prefer online trading … therefore go to your nearest brokerage house and open an Online Trading account and DP Account. In the Trading account you are required to maintain a specific balance, it’s like a surety that you will pay the money for the shares you have bought in the market and there is a specific limit for trading in shares. For buying and selling of shares in large quantities you need to maintain a Hugh balance in your trading account…

Now after opening the Online account….. You need a have basic knowledge about the share market to deal with shares…. There are two kinds of market – Primary Market and secondary market….. Primary Market is the IPO market… IPO is Initial Public offer by a company to the public which is not listed in the stock exchange…. The company advertises in various newspapers and TV channels about the issue, number of shares issues and the value of the shares offered, usually the price will always be range bound with respect to the PE Ratio of the company.

Depending upon the number of bids received from the public, the company will allocate shares to the retail investors and the shares will get listed in the stock exchange after 20 days of closure of the issue which could be at a premium or at a discount. For example if the issue price band is between 60-72 RS, the company will generally fix the price of the share after the closure of the issue and it will usually be at the upper price band. Then if the shares get listed on the BSE and the NSE (Bombay stock exchange and National stock exchange are the two stock exchanges in which people trade in equities) at 84 RS, then it got listed at a premium of 12 RS, therefore if you got 100 shares allotted and if you sell the shares immediately on listing you will get a profit of 100*12 (84-72) = 1200RS. Cool na….

This is primary market… usually I would say it’s the safest place to invest in stock market, of course please do go by the company reputation and market capitalization and brand name, don’t go for every IPO. Ok now how to apply for IPO and how much one can invest. In the advertisement for Initial public offer… the company will mention the minimum number of shares one can apply and in what lots to apply. For example in the above example of price band of 60-72 RS, the company might say that the minimum shares to be applied will be 100 shares and further in lots of 100 shares, so for retail investors the maximum limit is 1 Lakh RS, Retail investors will mostly apply at the upper price band always ( 72 RS) , as there is a likely wood of getting more shares , You can apply to a maximum of 1000 shares and a minimum of 100 shares and further in lots of 100, pls note that above 50K you have to attach a PAN card Xerox along with the application. Application can be found in any of the stock broker’s office. You have to fill out the form the number of shares applied and along with the Cheque have to submit the application to the broker.

Once the application form is submitted (before the closure of the issue), the company will take 15 days to allot shares to you, depending upon the number of shares you have applied, shares will be allocated to you in your DP account, of course there could cases where you have not been allotted any shares…. Few trail runs in the primary market will make you an expert and in future IPO’s you will be able to figure out what is the exact number of shares to be applied to get shares allocated in your name. After 20 days of the closure of the issue, the shares will get listed in BSE and in NSE....you can either sell it on listing for a meager profit.. or you can keep track of the share for sometime and sell it at a higher price… this all depends on the name of the company and its market capitalization.

Trading can be of two types – You can do Intra day trading or else you can go for delivery based trading of shares in your account. Intra day is buying and selling of shares in the same day itself and delivery is you do only one transaction on a day i.e buying of shares and take delivery of it in your DP account, the shares will get credited to your account two days from the date you buy the shares.

Now for secondary market….. Once shares are listed in both the exchanges, you can trade in the shares; you can buy, sell and short sell shares. I mentioned earlier that the latest trend is to have an online account. After you open and online account and have sufficient cash in your trading account…. You can start trading in stock market. Buying of shares is to buy any share in the market, to sell shares you will need to have those shares in your DP account, for short sell you need not have the shares in your DP account, you can sell shares, but you will need to cover that up before the end of the day, Generally people go for short sell if you have a feeling that the share price will come down at the end of the day… so for example a share when the market got opened was trading at 220 RS and you know that its going to come down in the latter part of the day.. you can short sell the share at 220 RS and in the latter part of the day as you predicted the share value comes down to 206 RS , then buy it back again and you can njoy a decent profit of 14 RS per share.

Now for the climax, what companies should we pick and choose and trade in share market. Analyze the market first, before you invest in a company, look at its past records, results, dividends, acquisitions, mergers, goodwill etc, wait for the right time to enter… watch the stock for atleast 6 months before you enter the stock….see whether any news triggers boost the value of the shares, if you get any price sensitive information about the company (i.e. to be short- Trade secrets) that would be of great use.

There is also something called options and futures, which I am not going to discuss now, as people have to first get the knowledge about equities and once done they can have a go at this topic. All said and done… Its not easy to be in market, 9 out of 10 people will come out of market with a loss and only one person will succeed and that one person would have complete knowledge about the market. You need to watch the market, its ups and downs and after 6 months start trading… see how it goes…..

I am discussing all this for people to know about what’s happening in stock market, my intention is not to get you all in stock market bcoz stock market is only for people who are willing to dedicate certain amount of time and their sleep from their normal life and njoy the benefits… Not for all… Think well before you invest.

Our Mega Trip to Goa....

A trip to remember and cherish all our life, it was very memorable and I enjoyed each and every moment of it.. So I decided to draft all the memories here and save them forever.

The trip was due for a very long time, actually lets say, it was a decade before we finalized the dates for the trip. It actually started with a hugh chaos – some falling out, some busy with work… it was so funny that even at the last moment, we were not sure who all were coming and who is pulling out of the trip .

At last… on 29th SEP 2006, the Train to “Vasco” was scheduled for departure at 2.10 P.M and 8 of us were eager to get in, while two of our friends, Balaji and Jai were all in sogam mood for sending us off for the dream trip… Guess wat, the train came to central Railway station only at 4.00 P.M and it started to move at 4.30 P.M. Since Jai was in deep sorrow, he left us early, but balaji was so happy that he ate 2 packs of Vegetable rice we had brought for the trip and 2 full liter bottles of water , this is not just to pull balaji’s leg… this is for our memories.....

We had a nice time in the train,. the reason being, there was a Big Marvadi family next to our compartment with beautiful girls roaming around in Jeans and T-shirt passing by, giving us looks… making us feel all as if we are in a swimming pool all drenched and wet. We ate all the vegetable rice and mutton prepared by Kishore’s Mom, which was nothing less than delicious, at precisely 12.00, three guys from Bangalore, Naga, Ashok and the Unbelievable Ethiraj , joined us, I was in deep sleep at that time since I was in night shift and haven’t slept in the early part of the day…., From wat I heard Ethiraj said he had heavy dinner but while these words were coming out of his mouth… he had more chappatheis than anyone in our gang… goes to show how unbelievable Ethiraj is in our gang...the real entertainer…

One whole day of trip… we played cards… joined other gang members and partied a lot.. now the Marvadi girls were more interested including aunties and started to give us looks, especially Harish as he and Jakka had a permanent interest in them…. At 3.15 P.M we landed in “MarGao”… we took a Taxi to the Bus stand where we got a Bus to Panaji, main city of Goa… we had a discussion about where to stay and after some time we decided that we will stay in the city of beaches “Calangute”…. We reached Calangute Via Bus at 7.00 P.M, everyone went everywhere in search of a decent place to stay, as a result one group of people booked one flat and the other group were fond of one resort specially made for honeymoon couples, with TV, Swimming pool and gud facilities …. It was decision time, we finally agreed for resort… and it was a Gud decision.

We reached the resort by 8.00 P.M and jumped into the swimming pool and after that we were not able to do anything… so went for drinks – the big ones were one quarter 8 PM Whiskey and one full Black & White scotch with other minor drinks – I have to mention here that this was Anand’s Treat…… I had a great time…. I was a bit dizzy and slept around 1.00 A.M….. Others slept little late…..Next day 1st Oct 2006 early morning, every one went for early morning beach volleyball in Calangute Beach… was really funny the way that everyone played diving and flying in the beach.

We had lunch in the resort itself as it was raining heavily outside.. we blamed the weather and at 3.30 P.M we decided to go to Calangute Beach to see all the babes in the water and believe it or not, we had a wonderful experience which I can’t discuss here as there is a possibility that I might face a violation of code of conduct here in my Blog. Now how can I describe the babes, sorry girls….. Just imagine if all the figures in Satyam cine complex and all the figures in spencers are put together in one single place with very little usage of clothes and multiply the number of people by 20… that’s Goa for you guys… Simply rocking to the core… after Calangute beach we went to Baga beach where we were not able to go to the disco as we needed pairs ( we guys were so handsome that we dint trust Goa girls) … hence spend some time in the beach and on the way back to the resort in th night… four of us. Myself,Partha, Basker and Ethiraj saw actress Namitha… she looked gud.. to say the least…… again had dinner in the resort… slept with usual drinks – This time 8 PM full with teachers Whisky Full… was gud…..

Next day 2nd October 2006, in the morning we again had a great time in the swimming pool with volley ball… finished our breakfast and we had hired bikes…. Totally 6 bikes for 11 of us… I had the luxury of driving alone with my Pulsar 150cc for most part of the day…..First, we again went to Baga beach to see it in the day light… we took snaps…. Then we went for Anjuna beach… this was one of the most amazing beaches I have seen in my entire life… We had to climb down the rocks to go near the beaches….Wat more, it was raining heavily….. and it was a beautiful view… we took many snaps….. then our next destination was the Chapora Fort in Rain….. Again was totally stunned by the view… it was amazing to be in such a place in the rain with clouds passing near you.. I am close to 75 kgs and I was physically pulled back numerous times by the wind and passing clouds…. Totally amazing……. After that, from a distance we saw Vagator Beach and headed for the resort, where we had lunch and one peg of 8 PM whisky . Nine of us (except for Jakka and Ashok – as they preferred Body massage) decided to go to panaji for the Cruz ride….. we boarded Cruz at 7.30… the ride was pretty cool and a whole new experience.. Ethiraj was the highlight of the day so far , he made everyone laugh…One cannot forget the Baba still he had posed for camera..basker almost fell in the sea after seeing that pose... it was so funny..... after the Cruz we returned our bikes myself and Jakka went for the Tattoo… I Had an Arc shaped tattoo on my right hand, First time in my life I was a Game for Tattoo and it came out well…. and headed for Dominos Pizza…..had dinner and in heavy rain reached our resort… No drinks 2nite…...

3rd Oct 2006 … we hired a Quails and headed for Aguada fort in the morning……. This fort was also Gud…. Took snaps… By this time I had a feeling the tour is going on so well…. No fights…. This will not be the case in any given day,…..something was missing and I was wondering when the bubble is going to burst...…..Suddenly Partha was sick … we took care of it and headed for the South Goa… Visited Big Church – “Basilica of Bom Jesus” – It was a privilege to visit the place and get know about its history and the saint…. After a small tour of the museum we left for Vasco…as our Bangalore friends were due for departure from Vasco…. Ethiraj was all in emotions not bcoz of leaving us.. but bcoz of missing the flight ride and the Airhostess…..On the way back to Calangute…. Wat I was wondering Happened…. Anand raised the topic of being dissatisfied with the food offered in the trip and blamed me as one of the reasons …… I had tears in my eyes but soon Anand understood it was not a particular persons fault and I dint want to spoil such a wonderful trip so we were on our track again…….We checked out and had to catch a Bus for Mumbai At 5.30 P.M… It was a Sleeper bus and the ride was Okie…

4Th Oct 2006… According to the original plan we had to reach Mumbai at 6.30 A.M… but our bad luck we reached only at 10.00 A.M bcoz of tire puncture and that too at a place which is like a close relative of Tambaram…. Its called Jui Nagar… we completely enjoyed the train ride from Jui nagar to CST for 45 mins… in all the rush… everyone were stepping on top of everyone. I have never seen so many people in one single compartment….. No words to describe….. From CST we took a cab to Gateway of India….. We had sandwich and Milkshake… Saw BSE stock exchange ( I practically live there everyday, one of my unforgettable moments) Reserve bank of India… Taj Hotels….. Mumbai city was full of Taxis’ After Gateway of India , we went to Fashion street for some shopping….. after some one hour of shopping we found out that the time was 1.20 P.M and our flight was at 3.10 P.M and one of my closest friend Archana was waiting in the Airport from 1.30 P.m……we had to take a train from Church gate, full of rush……reached santa Cruz at 2.35 P.m…. took an auto and reached the airport at 2.50 P.M….. Ran around the whole of the airport….. Gud Na…… If anything was missing in this trip it was adventure… and it had to come last …. Reached the required place at 3.00 P.M, saw archana for 2 mins….. and had to board the flight…… 5.45 P.M reached Chennai… Jai and Balaji came to receive us……like a royal Gang we took a Tavera and dropped everyone at their door step

The whole trip was organized by Anand… Hats off dude… Accounts by Kishore….He is really gud……. Amazing job… But next time give me a chance in this dept guys….Jakka managed the tickets booking… Basker chose the places and the Fort was really wonderful… Harish was full of energy, Naga, Ashok, Partha all kept quite and spoke at the right time with great sense of humour…..Raghu was an important part of this group, he was the caretaker of the entire lot….. Ethiraj was simply superb and chanceless…. Everyone played their part and most important , it was all fun…

On the whole.. it was a dream trip…. Which will live in our hearts forever….11 Of us having such a wonderful time in a unknown city is a great achievement and we owe it to each and everyone of us who came for the trip…….Great job guys.. Hope we all will do the same thing some other time……
